Thank you Evanston Scout Troop 916 (and your Cub Scout packs) for over 500 bags of food!!

Thanks to David Lenz from Troop 916 Evanston. His Eagle
project was to enclose the garbage/recycle dumpsters
with a gate and fence and to make
benches for the walk up patrons. We hope to get the concrete
ramp and pad by the distribution door poured as soon as we
get some clear and warm days!

| Thanks to the grant from the Rotary Club and monies in memory of Clara Jeanne
Bright, a long-time Hillsider who passed away recently,
we were able to purchase two used commercial refrigerators
that are in pristine condition. |

A Community of People Helping People

Wonderful Facts
* We've had over 90 volunteers helping since we opened
.
* The number of households we are serving has grown over 400%!
* Each month we are surprised with offers to contribute or help from individual
neighbors, Evanston business owners, the schools, and more. God is good!
* Since our doors have opened, we have served a total of 35,726 families totaling
125,716 people (05-2011 stats) Amazing!
* Patrons want to give back too, so they find time to volunteer, some as many
as 2-3 times a week.
* We collect fresh produce and bread products at least five times a week.
